Contemporary

Overview

Contemporary Dance is technical form of dance that often requires the dancer to explore emotions and feeling.
Contemporary has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television shows such as SYTYCD and Dance Moms.

We will explore the diversity of contemporary dance through popular techniques such as Graham, Release and Cunnigham, as well as popular genres such as commercial and lyrical. Classes will begin with a technical warm up focusing on strength and flexibility, followed by traveling work from the corner and ending with choreography in the centre.
